Baby Belly

My ever growing baby belly seems plenty big to me, but I still have 4 weeks until my due date...which is plenty of time for my belly to grow even larger!   I'm getting a little impatient to meet the little girl who keeps me company with her acrobatic moves all night.
I'm already in love with her and haven't even (really) laid eyes on her yet.

The waiting game begins...

Natural Grace

Just when Ben's forehead had almost finished healing from a fall (above), he received a fortune cookie with a fortune mentioning his "natural grace".

Minutes after eating the cookie, he fell down a set of metal "cheese grater" style stairs.  His face, ears, and neck were covered in blood and it was difficult to determine how bad his injuries were.  After calming him down enough to be able to clean him up, we were able to see that his face was "grated" from the top of his head down to his cute nose, and even inside his mouth.  Along with that, a large bump on his forehead appeared.

He was so stunned and scared, that he had us worried.  The sparkle in his eye disappeared and he even declined going to Grandma and Grandpa's house for birthday cake and ice cream...which made us start to wonder if he had a concussion.  Ben has never been known to pass up a treat!  Luckily, he perked up within the hour and we knew he was fine.

The next morning, Ben's "natural grace" helped him fall down into our crawl space... and the day following that, he fell off a couch in my parents' basement, landing on his face.

Here's to Ben's "natural grace" and hoping that it disappears before his cute face is filled with scars ;-)

Hermit Park

Our traditional camping trip at Hermit Park.

Our self-styled boys dancing to music on the drive up with bellies full of candied ginger.

Some messy fun painting rocks.

The kids enjoyed many more fun activities and exciting adventures.  Unfortunately, for memory's sake, pregnant mom was too tired and sick to follow the kids around with the camera to try and capture the excitement.

Digging in the dirt.

S'mores (love that messy face!).

Unfocused eyes from too much sugar (only one marshmallow).

A peek at wildlife on our drive home.

Until next year.

Whistle vs Higher

Each time we get into the car a little argument between Paul and Ben breaks out about what music we will be listening to.  It plays out like this:

B: "Let's listen to the Whistle song."
P: "No, let's listen to Higher.  We listened to the Whistle song first last time."
B: "No!  Whistle song!"
P: "No, Higher."
B: "No!"
...
Ben is so in love with the "whistle song" that he burst into tears the other day when he didn't get to listen to it right away :)

He Loves You So Much

Paul- your little brother Ben loves you so much that he often crawls into your bed in the middle of the night to snuggle with you (after, of course, he finds mismatched socks in his drawer and puts them on his feet).  Just one of the many ways we know that Ben loves you...

I love seeing this boy so happy!

Boy Oh Boy.... It's a Girl!

Today was an exciting day.  In addition to it being my birthday, I had my 20 week ultra sound in which we were able to find out the sex of our baby.

Most of us were thrilled with the news.

Others of us (Ben) were a bit confused and seemingly clueless to what this news meant.... and still others of us (Paul), were less than thrilled.

Check out the video below to see Paul's reaction to the news.  His sheer disappointment coupled with a lack of sleep the previous night makes for some loud crying (sorry).  His reaction had me laughing very hard :)

From the very first day that we told Paul we were expecting another baby, he has insisted that the new baby is a boy.  He has been closed off to the possibility that this baby could be a girl and has been looking forward to having another brother.  After his initial meltdown over the news that this baby is a girl, Paul decided to pray and ask Heavenly Father to help him.  The audio is terrible, but perhaps you can hear Paul asking that the baby please be "changed into a boy".  Oh, I love Paul.

Unless Paul's prayer is answered, we're having a GIRL!
