Spring Snow

We woke up to about 6" of snow this morning.  It was quite the fun spring surprise!
Paul already had the day off of school, so we stayed in our pj's and had fun with some science experiments.

The experiments migrated to the bathroom,

and then to the backyard.

As the snow continues to fall, we're cuddled up inside enjoying a movie.

Paul's Art Show- April 10, 2013

Paul had his first art show at his school and was very excited for everyone to come and see his art work.

It was fun to see him so proud to show everyone his school and his art.

Ben 4.0

Benjamin turned 4 this month and we celebrated with a big family birthday party.

As always, the preparation for the party was almost as much fun for Ben (& Paul too) as the actual party.  Ben had many, many ideas for his party.  Planning his party is something he looks forward to all year long.  Many of his ideas were quite wild, in true Benny fashion :)  He narrowed the theme down to Angry Birds, Curious George, & Lalaloopsy.

With lots of help from Aunt Keely, a pinata was made, an egg hunt & games were planned, and decorations were made.

For food, Ben decided on "junk cereal for the kids and vegetables for the adults".

Instead of a cake, Ben requested cupcakes for everyone plus a big cupcake for himself with Curious George on top.

Ben's big giant cupcake that he requested-- thanks aunt Julie!

Once the party started, the usual chaos set in and Ben was happier than ever.

Ben has a fairly good swing, but if his swing were any bit as intense as his face, the pinata would have been destroyed in 1 hit ;)

I'd love to post more pictures from his party, but time is not on my side (nor is my laptop).  I want to post this before another birthday comes and goes.

On his actual birthday, Ben woke up and found a scavenger hunt clue taped to his bedroom door.  Ben and Paul ran around from clue to clue until they found his presents.  A birthday present scavenger hunt has become a tradition in our house.  The boys love it.  Later on, we went to Pizza Hut with my Mom followed by Toys R Us.  After Justin got home from work, we all got in our swimming suits and headed over to Mulberry Pool to swim.  Upon arrival, we were informed that the free swim is closed on Tuesday's after 4 pm for swimming lessons.  Many tears were shed by all 3 kids on the drive back across town.  Luckily, happy meals at Old McDonald's and a movie from Redbox were enough of a distraction to help slow the tears.
