Ben is 7!

This kids is now 7!

He woke up, bright and early at 5 am, his excitement for the day preventing him from sleeping.  He spotted a scavenger hunt clue taped to his bedroom door, but showed great restraint and patience by waiting until 7, when Justin and Amanda were awake, to start in on the fun.

Then he was spoiled with doughnuts for breakfast- 3 whole doughnuts all for himself!

He enjoyed playing with his presents but was most excited when he heard the mail truck drive by early afternoon.

All week he had been requesting that no one else check the mail.  He just knew that Great Grandma and Grandpa Wilkins would mail him a birthday letter.  Each day he checked many times, and each day he was disappointed.  I watched nervously as he went to check the mail on his birthday.  When I saw a big grin spread across his face, I knew that it had arrived.  He ran back to the house and ripped the letter open.  He was a happy boy :)

We had our traditional extended family birthday party at our house later on in the late afternoon.  Being with his cousins is just the best.  He loved opening up all of his presents and feeling special.

Of course, too much attention makes him a little uncomfortable.  Here he is making, but trying to hide that he is making, his trademark "uncomfortable face".

All of the kids had fun playing with a parachute from Grandma Candy.

The weather was absolutely perfect and the time spent with family was priceless.
