Towards the end of summer vacation, Paul only voiced disappointment that summer would be over when asked if he was excited for school to start. As the day approached, however, he started getting a little more excited. Paul was less than trilled to have to go to Back-to-School night on his birthday yesterday, but he came home very excited for 2nd grade to begin. He woke up early (but not too early), got dressed, etc., and asked me to take him to school... way ahead of schedule :)
Here he is ready to head off to 2nd grade:
Ben was extremely excited to start Kindergarten. He had met with his Kindergarten teacher last week for a Kindergarten Assessment. He answered all of the questions correctly and impressed his teacher. It was good for him to meet his teacher and see his classroom.
Unfortunately, the day before school started, Ben came down with a stomach bug and a fever. He fell asleep during Paul's birthday lunch and was more or less sick the rest of the day.
Mainly as consideration for the other kids in his class, we had to keep Ben home from his first day of school. He was REALLY disappointed and shed a lot of tears over it. Luckily, he's feeling well and should be able to go to school tomorrow.
Here he is with bedhead and all:
Amanda, of course, had to join in the first-day-of-school excitement. She found her little back pack, accessorized, and was ready to go.
Here's hoping to a fun year full of learning and new friends!
